Eighteen boats challenge the 2001 Champion of Champions N.W.O. with full winds in their sails...
Caribbean Commercial Bank’s 25th Anniversary activities continue this weekend with an exciting “A” Class boat race as one the feature highlights marking the occasion. The excitement begins at the most popular venue of Sandy Ground when eighteen boats including the Satellite, the Ms. Anguilla, the Bluebird, the Tree all challenging the 2001 Champion of Champions N.W.O. are expected to line up and with full winds in their sails they will sail off to the western end of the island then onto another historic venue in Blowing Point turning in front of the ferry terminal and back to Sandy Ground.
This memorable event is being held in association with the Anguilla National Boat Racing Committee and is a continuation of CCB’s contribution to what has fast become the most indigenous sport of the island. This marks the first full sponsorship of a race destined to become an annual event of the Anguillian boat-racing calendar. The Bank ever mindful of its corporate role on the island of developing both the social and economic well being of Anguilla will make presentations to the first five finishers in the event.
The CCB events which started earlier this month will continue until October 2002 with anniversary activities involving the staff, management, directors as well as members of the general public. Activities will include a Baby of the Month competition, the drawing of the raffle for the CCB Holiday Club, the annual Senior Citizens luncheon and a Fun Gala day for Pre and Primary School children during the upcoming weeks. Internet users are reminded to log on to “ccb.ai” or “caribbeancommercialbank.com” and surf the net to see all the Bank is offering to its customers and friends.
