Draughts Competition details for the 2001 tournament.

Players compete during the first round.

The Draughts Competition which started on Saturday night October 27th with some eighteen entrants was completed last Monday evening with the first prize of EC $ 1,000 and a trophy going to Steve Hodge of East End.
He defeated Lennard Murrain in the finals to reign supreme in this year's tournament. Third place went to Leroy Hodge of East End with Andy Connor of Blowing Point in fourth place. Incidentally, this was the second time in as many years that Murrain was beaten into runner up position.

Draughts requires serious concentration.

The event put on by Caribbean Commercial Bank as annual event because of its popularity was a precursor to the Bank's 25th Anniversary Celebrations. Second place winner Murrain will receive a check for EC $ 800.00 and the second place trophy while Hodge will receive a prize of EC $ 500.00 and the third place trophy.

Play was intense.

The winners will receive their awards at a handover ceremony at the Bank offices tomorrow Tuesday October 31st at 9 am.
